Drog Meets Dog: Drogba Parties With Snoop Dog at The Cannes

As the long football league season draws to a close in Europe, players have already began stuffing up their backpacks to make way for the holiday season. And Chelsea have already secured the Premier League title; the Blues did so with two games to spare. It could not have been coincidence that they still have none other than Didier ‘the drog’ Drogba in that team.

Having won a fourth English title with the Stamford Bridge club, it is time to unwind for the Chelsea legend who was chilling with US musician Snoop Dog in Cannes… Yes “SN double O PEEEEEEE.”

Drogba posted the following picture on his Instagram page and wrote: “Great to catch up with my big bro yesterday @snoopdogg in Cannes…”

‎The Ivoirian did not feature in Monday night’s shock 3-0 humbling of the champions elect at The Hawthorns and the party unsurprisingly could not wait any longer in the French town where the Cannes Film Festival is currently taking place.

‎Drogba will however become a free agent at the end of the season upon seeing out his one-year contract with the west Londoners.

He has scored four goals in 27 Premier League appearances this season, including seven starts in the Premier League.

Slot launches trade-in program in partnership with Matrix

Slot Systems Limited, Nigeria’s leading phone retailer has launched a “trade-in” program to enable customers trade-in their old phones for brand new ones.

Confirming this in Lagos, the Managing Director of SLOT, Mr. NnamdiEzeigbo, said that this program is in collaboration with Matrix Certified Pre-Owned Nigeria Limited, a leading name in pre-owned devices.

According to Ezeigbo “to be part of this program is very simple – just walk into any SLOT store, hand in your old phone, pay the price difference and walk out with a brand new phone for any of these brands of your choice: Blackberry, I phone, Samsung and Nokia”. Tagged ‘SLOT Trade-in’, the service is available in 50 Slot stores nationwide, and seeks to fulfill customers desire to own state-of-the-art phones at affordable prices. Corroborating this, the Managing Director of Matrix, Pastor DimejiMatesun, observed that with the ‘SLOT Trade-in’ the value of a phone can be used in exchange for another, thereby giving customers real value for their money. Continuing Matesun noted that the traded phones (used phones) received from this program will be sold by MATRIX through its used phone retail stores across Nigeria. The bottom-line is to bring benefit to the Nigerian people at this (hard time).

Sources from the Ikeja head office of SLOT confirmed that, “it doesn’t matter where the customer purchased their phones from, even from our competitor, they will also enjoy the privilege of trading it for a new and authentic device with one year after sales warranty. Simply, the customer is only expected to present a copy of their Identity card to authenticate its ownership”

In order to forestall the possibility customers bringing in stolen phones for trade-in, Ezeigbo said: “However, as a way of guarding against increasing theft of mobile devices, a new websitewww.stolenphone.org has been launched, thereby providing a platform for consumers to register every lost device. This process is very simple: just register the model of the device, IMEI number and your phone number. This website makes it easy for our Staff to check if the device is stolen or not before proceeding with the process of TRADE-IN. Which means that if you buy a phone from SLOT, you are sure of the source”.

Concluding Ezeigbo stated that “we shall continue to provide the shopping and wonderful after sales service experience that we are known for which is the underlying principle and philosophy of SLOT is to add value to people’s lives by making the all-important use of mobile phones a pleasurable experience.

Chibok girls now living in Bunkers – Borno Governor says

The Governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima says there are indications that missing Chibok girls might be living in Bunkers in Sambisa Forest with Boko Haram members. He called on the military to liberate the girls as they carry out their operations in the forest. The Governor gave the indication in a paper he wrote and was presented by the Secretary, Borno Elders Forum, Dr Bulama Mala at a two-day post election conference on security and governance, organized the GubioSavanna Centre, a Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, in Abuja yesterday May 19th. What he wrote after the cut..

“We are suspecting that Chibok girls are living with the insurgents in bunkers. I think the military must carry out their operations beyond the surface earth. They (Boko Haram) were also known to have dug tunnels to enable them move from house to house. So, having been left unchallenged for such a long time, such possibility cannot be ruled out which poses serious obstacles within the forest. The insurgents used their bases in the Sambisa Forest to launch deadly attacks and make quick retreat to their base which enabled them capture and take over control of all the local government areas bordering Nigeria with Cameroon, Chad and Niger, thus effectively cutting off the three neighbouring countries thereby declaring what they assumed was their independent territory (caliphate). Unless and only if the Sambisa Forest is effectively recovered from the terrorists shall we think of defeating the Boko Haram and begin to embark on a holistic approach for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the North East. In fact, at several stages the Borno State Government had intervened to reconstruct destroyed schools, health centres, homes, markets and so on, only for the insurgents to attack and destroy them again.”he said
